Nowadays, there are a lot of different ways to dress up. Today fashion somewhat strange about what to wear to different types of events: some people are wearing shorts, some people wear neat blazers at the street. So, I want to clear this mess once and for all, and provide you a view about all dress codes, what and where to wear.

Street Style

Street style is a kind of those dress codes that are clear from the name. It are the clothes that you wear at the street.

  • What to wear on top: simple t-shirt, v-neck t-shirt, sweatshirt, hoodie, leather jacket (or denim)
  • What to wear on bottom: blue jeans, black jeans, grey jeans. Ripped jeans also good.
  • What shoes to wear: fashion sneakers (white color is best), chelsea (autumn), derby (in winter)
  • Where to wear: street, for a walk, meetings with best friends, for a walk in park with girlfriend, e. t. c.

Urban

It is a city style which is quite similar to hip-hop style. So to simplify things, lets call urban dress code a contemporary fashion hip-hop style.

  • What to wear on top: fashion t-shirt, extra long fashion t-shirt, fashion sweatshirt, fashion hoodie,
  • What to wear on bottom: blue, black or grey skinny (slim fit) jeans, hip-hop jeans. Ripped jeans are also good.
  • What shoes to wear: fashion sneakers (white color is best)
  • Where to wear: street, for a walks, meetings with best friends, for a walk in park with girlfriend, e. t. c.
  • Additional notes: extra long sleeved t-shirts, tattoes, silver or black earrings, silver necklaces are also composing parts of that style.

Everyday Casual

Everyday casual is one of dress codes that is quite similar to street style, but has some distinctive features.

  • What to wear on top: long sleeved shirt, casual sweatshirt, cotton jacket.
  • What to wear on bottom: blue, black or grey jeans, chinos pants. Ripped jeans are also acceptable.
  • What shoes to wear: sneakers, chelsea boots, derby boots.
  • Where to wear: street, for a walk, for a not formal job, meeting with friends, for a walk in park with girlfriend, e. t. c.
  • Additional notes: shirt could be worn bottom down or tucked into pants. T-shirt also could be worn with a button down plaided shirt.

Neat Casual

Neat casual as a part of dress codes is a typical style of oxford’s gentlemen to seat near warm fireplace at home.

  • What to wear on top: neat polo t-shirt, dress shirt (or without), knitted pullover, cardigan or vest, may be light blazer over sweater.
  • What to wear on bottom: chinos pants, slacks, trousers, jeans without holes.
  • What shoes to wear: slip-ons, casual loafers, oxfords.
  • Where to wear: formal weekend meeting, meeting with relatives, weekend meeting with wealthy people.
  • Additional notes: you also can wear a tie and a newsboy cap if wearing a blazer.

Smart Casual

Smart casual is a typical style to go at office or at university. It is the only of dress codes that should emphasize your intellect and professionalism.

  • What to wear on top: dress shirt, blazer, tie.
  • What to wear on bottom: jeans, chinos, suit separate pants.
  • What shoes to wear: casual loafers, oxfords, chukka.
  • Where to wear: office, university.
  • Additional notes: you can combine different ties, shirts, blazers to create many different looks. Good silver watches are a nice addition to such kind of style. However, this kind of style is rather for a middle and under managers, for top CEO is business dress code preferred.

Dressy Casual

Dressy casual is very similar to smart casual by clothes, but very different by look. It is a kind of wear to look dressy and to meet not formal events.

  • What to wear on bottom: jeans or chinos (slim and tapered).
  • What shoes to wear: casual loafers, oxfords, fashion slip-ons, fashion sneakers.
  • Where to wear: not formal evening-night events, cafe, e.t.c.

Business

Some dress codes like business are set to wear by some group of people. For example, business is a style perfectly suited for top managers and CEO to wear at work.

  • Where to wear: office, business lunches, symposiums, conferences.

Black Tie

Black tie standing outside among other dress codes, because is a style to meet evening events. If you want to gain some good attraction in the evening event you should follow these norms.

  • What shoes to wear: oxfords.
  • Where to wear: evening social events, opera, charity events, weddings e.t.c.
  • Additional notes: black vest also acceptable.

White Tie

White tie is quite similar to black tie, but a little bit more dressy. It is a style that usually worn on ceremonial events during day time.

  • Where to wear: evening social events, charity events, weddings (any celebratory event during day time).
  • Additional notes: black or white vest, white scarf or white flower at left chest also acceptable.

Conclusion

All these dress codes are quite messy. There are exceptions to every dress code style: for example, you can wear a casual blazer in a street style way. So, basic rule for an end is, dress particularly to an event. Thus, you will never miss with clothes.
